Had a great run today! I was going for 10 miles, but ended doing a half marathon, aka 13.1 miles. Today was also the first time I did a run with my heart rate monitor. I couldn't get it to work, and finally tried changing the battery. It was apparently shipped with a dead battery ... how nice. It worked great. I'll post a screen capture of what type of data my GPS watch/heart rate monitor captures. I ran my golf course also today, which has a lot of crazy hills. It really cranks up the heart rate.

April 27:
Ran a 10k around the high school track. It was pretty windy but I manged to run it in 59 minutes!

8 miles, including 4 miles on my golf course. What a beautiful day. Golf course time: 43:44

4 mile run after work on Friday.

What a crappy run. Probably the worst one in a long time. I was obviously tired from playing poker online with friends until 1:30, then getting up at 6:00 to go work. I only ran 4.5 miles but had to stop twice to walk because I just felt blah. I might be pregnant. hehe. Better luck next time.

Ran again on the trail by my parents' house in the marsh. Averaged 9 minute miles over 5 miles, which is a great pace for me. I bought a water bottle holder/belt so I can hydrate while running. The one I bought is really nice and easy access, and will rest nicely on my lower back.

1/2 Marathon!!!

I'm in Moncton (home town) for Easter weekend. I've been looking forward to running here because of the nice trails and less steep hills than Grand Falls. I ran 13.1 miles! Woot. Felt great until about 12.5 miles but then my brain wanted me to stop. I was looking at the mileage on my GPS watch and it was going by soooo slow! Great time too ... 2 hours 16 minutes. Nice.

Miles today: 13.1 , 2h 16m 12sec. Pace: 10.4 minute/mile

April 12:

Tried my Garmin 305 GPS watch for the first time tonight. Couldn't get the heart rate monitor to work ... I only had 5 minutes to fiddle with it ... better luck next time. But the distance and speed in real time was great. I'll never have to jump in my car and back track again to get proper mileage (which was nowhere near perfect for trails).

Got my GPS watch !!!

Yipeee! I received my Garmin 305 GPS watch last night. I tried it for a walk and it's great. It gives you the distance, speed, elevation, and heart rate. You can download all the data to a computer to analyse. Great stuff.
April 9: 7 miles

- I ran to my golf course and through the back 9. I thought it would be farely dry but I sunk my feet a few times in mud over my ankles. I also had to walk through snow mid-shin deep. Good thing I decided to use my old running shoes just in case:

Holy crap what a windy day! You don't get ready for that on a treadmill. It was about 36F and one of the windiest days I've seen in a while. Garbage was flying everywhere. I tried a new course which was fun.
