Ran 9 miles today, woohoo! (14.4 km, doh I thought 9 miles was 15k ... maybe next time). I've been reading on running and I decided to slow down my pace and go for a long run. I felt pretty good after an hour and a half of running.

Started counting my calories. I want to be 180 by May 1 this year. This way, I will have lost 40 pounds in a year.

Miles today: 9 miles, 1h 30m 49 sec, pace 10 min 5 sec / mile.

Worked out with weights this morning: chest and triceps.

I just realized how I'm not lifting weights as much as I should. This is only my fourth workout this month. I have been concentrating on running, which is great, but I need to do more weights to improve my overall fitness.

I will also start to count calories again with the help of www.calorie-count.com . I've been eating at night and I think I gained a pound or two. Might as well cut that crap out before I gain more weight.

I ran 3 miles today. I was going to try 9 miles, but the treadmill died on me :( Happening too often at the gym. Those machines are getting old. I can't wait to start running outside when the weather permits. Hopefully they'll ship my GPS watch this week. Woot.

Check out the new toy I ordered last week. It's a Garmin 305 GPS watch. It tells you in real time your speed, distance, and elevation in real time. It also has a heart rate monitor. You can also upload the data to your computer. Weeeee. It's brand new. They are only shipping them in the next few days.

Ran 3 miles at the gym. Got trots so had to cut my run short. haha

I ran 8 miles at the gym in Moncton. Felt pretty good, but after running 1 hour and 17 minutes, I could feel that I ran a ton. I feel good now though. I'm always careful about warming up, cooling down, and stretching a lot after long runs.

I'm looking into GPS watches for when I start running outside. I didn't know they existed until recently. It'll give you (in real time) your speed, distance, altitude. The one I'm looking at also has a heart rate monitor. It'll download the whole thing to your computer so you can track your progress. Neato. Looks like a great training tool + I love gadgets :D

I went to the gym at 7:30 PM tonight. The gym was packed! Still some people hanging on to their new year's resolutions I suppose. It won't last long :) I worked out my biceps and shoulders.

Ran a 10k today (6.25 miles) despite having phlegmy lungs from a cold I'm trying to fight off. It didn't bother me at all while running, and I felt great after cooling down.

I can't wait to go running outside. It' impossible right now because of the cold weather here in north/east Canada. I could gear up for the cold, but I would probably just risk injury because we've had a lot of slush that froze up. I'll continue practicing running indoors and will probably hit the streets in early April of this year. I also hope I can find a few 5k and 10k races to run this summer. I'm just learning this running thing and I'm having a blast.

Went to the gym to run but I felt dizzy after 3 miles ... not good on a treadmill. So I quit that and did 3 x 7 chin ups, some push ups, and ab work. Better luck next time.
